Why I decided to
become a health coach
My story

A few years ago now, my GP diagnosed me with severe depression. I had been feeling very low and numb and felt like I went through my days with dark cloud above me. Nothing seemed to spark joy anymore. But to hear this diagnosis was like a slap in the face. My brain went into overdrive trying to figure out how to process this news. It made me so anxious to try and think of what to do next.
I never thought that I would suffer from a mental illness. I mean let's just call it what it is right? It is an illness, something wasn't right. My mind wasn't at ease. It was in a state of dis-ease. A mental health disease.

So, what to do next? The way our health care system works is the first point of action is to prescribe medication. I knew immediately in my gut that medication wasn't the solution for me. I didn't know what else I was going to do, but I declined the prescription either way.
At that time I was in touch with psychologist and I am so grateful I had her at that time. My GP really made me feel so little and like I made huge mistake declining the meds but my psychologist just listened to me, unjudgmentally and made me feel that what I thought and felt mattered. In the past I mentioned to her that I wanted to transition to a plant-based diet but that I was struggling with it. During this session she asked me how that was going for me. I said, "not so well. I've even started eating meat again and I'm not feeling good about it". She told me about a research article she had read. That eating more fruit and vegetables can improve your mental health. I felt instant butterflies. It was like the sun came peering through my dark clouds. I knew instantly that THAT was going to be my way out of this mess. It something I've been wanting to do anyway and now it could even help me with my mental health?!
The moment our session was over I started researching vegan recipes, plant based bloggers and vloggers and all other info and inspo I could find online. A fire in me had lit up.
It was that day that I started improving my mental health. A week or so after I had seen my GP last I visited her again and we did another test to see how depressed I was. I had gone from severe depressed to mildly depressed. She asked me what I had been doing for the last week and I told her about my changes. She didn't seem to be to impressed and sort of insinuated that I lied on the test. I thanked her for her services and never looked back.
I have never touched antidepressants and apart from a low mood here and there (I'm only human..) I have never felt as low again as I did back then. Eating more plants has really changed the way I look at life.

Of course just eating more fruit and vegetables isn't enough. Along the way I have implemented many more healthy habits that have improved my life in a huge way. Slowly things like dairy, most processed foods and almost all animal derived food was being replaced by plants. That's how my diet changed.
I also started looking into supplementing as I knew it was hard to have a balanced diet at all times.
I experimented with different kinds, from the cheap ones from the supermarket expensive ones from the pharmacy and health shop. After experimenting for a while I eventually found a beautiful product that actually worked. Within a month my blood levels perfect (yes, I actually got my blood tested to see if it worked..) These supplements along with living healthier, have absolutely transformed my life.

I decided to become a health coach so I can help others overcome the same struggles I did, in a professional way.

So this is is my WHY. To help others that are just like me and you. To give you tools and strategies to go from unhappy and stuck in bad habits to happy and healthy and feeling alive.
If I can do it, you can do it! Especially with me on your side!

And because my health journey absolutely accelerated since I started supplementing with wholefood derived supplements I have also decided to add this into my coaching services.

What does this mean for you? That you get access to high quality, bio-available supplements that will help you achieve your health goals quicker.
